The September 11th, 2001 attack upon the World Trade Center in New York City is the catalyst for this thoughtful novel. Two main characters narrate the story from different points in time: Alia from 2001, as the twin towers come crashing down, and Jesse from the present day, as her family still struggles to come to terms with her brother's death in one of the towers. Jesse makes a thoughtless decision that causes the two characters' paths to cross. The result may help both of them find some closure to the events of that now infamous day in 2001.
