Beartown by Fredrik BackmanMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
In this 2019 Lincoln Award nominee, the Beartown junior ice hockey team has a chance to win the national championship. The small, working-class town has not had much to cheer about in recent years, and if a handful of teenagers can come through with a win, the fortunes of the town just may change. After a victory in the semi-finals, there is a violent incident at a party involving a star player and a girl. With the hopes of the town resting on the success of the junior hockey team, will justice be served, or, will the incident simply become another small town secret?
