Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly

Main character Andi feels like her life is falling apart. Her parents are caught up in their own problems and she is nearly failing her senior year at a prestigious music school. Underlying her problems is the horrible guilt she feels at the tragic death of her brother. She takes a trip with her father to Paris to escape and research a paper that may save her high school career. In Paris, she stumbles on a centuries old mystery and connects with a girl who lived hundreds of years ago. Elements of time travel enhance this wonderful story.
