Ambrose is beautiful and smart and a sports hero in their small Pennsylvania town. Fern has loved him from afar since she was 10. When Ambrose and his four best friends go to Afghanistan after high school, only Ambrose returns, physically and emotionally scarred. It is Fern who helps him heal. This is a wonderful story about love, loss, friendships, and family that is funny and sad and smart and romantic. I loved it!
